How It Works
At Heart Care Connect, we make device monitoring simple, supportive, and stress-free. We provide expert remote monitoring for all brands of pacemakers, defibrillators, and loop recorders. Unlike large systems that rely on automation, every reading is reviewed by our experienced Australian pacing technicians so you get real, personalised care.
1. Getting Started is Simple
-
When your device is implanted, a hospital cardiac technician sets up your home monitor. Once you’re home, just plug it in and your device begins sending data. Some devices can also be monitored using a mobile phone app — in this case, monitoring starts the moment you leave hospital.
2. Sign Up With Heart Care Connect
-
Membership gives you daily monitoring, phone support for device questions, and access to our supportive community. Payment is simple, secure, and flexible
3. Your Cardiologist + Heart Care Connect = A Team for You
-
Your cardiologist focuses on life saving procedures and patient care. Remote monitoring generates thousands of alerts and admin tasks that can take away from this vital work. That’s where Heart Care Connect steps in: we filter the alerts, manage the technical side, and support you directly — leaving your cardiologist free to do what they do best.
-
From the moment you’re referred, our experienced pacing technicians review your device data every business day. If an important alert arises, we identify it and pass it to your cardiologist without delay. Because we only escalate genuine issues, urgent concerns are managed promptly — giving you peace of mind to carry on with living your life.
4. Expert Eyes on Your Device, Every Day
5. Stay Connected & Supported
-
We’ll contact you to make sure you understand your device and how to keep your monitor connected. If your monitor disconnects, we’ll help you get back online quickly. As a member, you’ll also have access to our online community and in-person catch-ups, where you can connect with others on the same journey.

Important Note
Heart Care Connect are device technicians, not clinicians. We can educate you on your device and keep your monitor connected, but we do not provide clinical advice. Your cardiologist remains the expert in your overall heart health.
It’s also important to know how monitoring works. If devices stayed connected like a mobile phone, their batteries would last days instead of years. To protect battery life, most devices connect once per day — usually overnight while you sleep.
This means if you have an emergency and are away from your monitor (for example, in hospital overnight), it may not capture the event until you’re back home.
Remote monitoring is still a huge leap forward. In the past, device data was only seen once or twice a year at clinic visits — now it can be seen within days, often allowing earlier action before symptoms appear. But it’s not real-time tracking and does not replace emergency care.
Finally, these devices monitor the electrical activity of your heart. They cannot detect problems caused by blockages in the heart’s vessels. For chest pain, shortness of breath, or other urgent concerns, always call 000.
